English for Change was written for English learners in Grade XI with the philosophy of Kurikulum Merdeka in mind. It manifests in the book as demonstrated by the following: 1) the learning objectives, materials, activities, and assessment are specified and designed based on a careful reference toCapaian Pembelajaran 2) the Genre-Based Approach's learning stages and cooperative learning are consistently used to make the learning: activity-based and student-oriented; 3) Profil Pelajar Pancasila is integrated into the learning materials and activities; and 4) differentiated learning is promoted through the use of individual, pair, group, and whole-class work.
The book presents the language skills in an arrangement that makes the instruction progress from receptive to productive skills and endorses multimodal literacies. The book also ensures that there is an alignment of learning objectives of language skill lessons within the same cycle (e.g., listening-speaking) that is significant for promoting learners' metacognition and self-regulated learning. Additionally, the materials are presented under several current themes (i.e., digital safety, environmental awareness, nutrition and wellness, and financial literacy) to enrich learners' repertoire of life. The book will help them to attain the key concepts, competencies, and characters that contribute to their process of becoming emancipated individuals.
